Each year the number of entrants shows the pleasure that motorcyclists get from the Rally. This pleasure is also shared by the countless (many nostalgic) onlookers who enjoy the sights and sounds of this event.
Long may these pleasures continue.

“The Eastbourne Lions 8th Annual Classic Charity Motorcycle Rally 2007”

Supporting Sussex Air Ambulance

Took place on

Sunday 10th June.

Once again Eastbourne's Western Lawns was the venue as the 8th Lions Annual Classic Motor Cycle Charity Rally and Run got under way.

Over 300 riders and pillion passengers from across the UK and the near Continent took part proudly showing off their highly polished machines. Vintage models from as far back as 1913 stood next to the most up to date state of the art machines as entrants and the public looked on in admiration.

At 11.00am exactly the machines were flagged off by The Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Mary Pooley on the planned 60 mile run in the countryside of East Sussex.

The route took in Pevensey Castle, Herstmonceux Castle, Battle, Netherfield and then south to The Seven Sisters, Beachy Head and back to The Western Lawns for picnic lunches provided by The Lions. Keen eyed judges took detailed notes and decided the various class winners. Trophies were awarded by Lion President Cyril Peskett.
